Latin is a language that inflects.For example, the Latin word “amo” means “I love you,” The root word is “ama”, meaning love. The -o  represents the first person. Most other languages, such as English, will require two or more words to express the same meaning.

There are seven cases of nouns. The same cases are used in adjectives and pronouns and there are four main conjugations and six tenses of Latin verbs.
